3/18/2011 - Our First Israeli Breakfast and Travel to Tsfat

The Carlton Hotel is right on the Mediterranean Sea and we have a beautiful view from our room.

After checking out the view, we started our day at the Carlton Hotel with the first Israeli breakfast of our trip.  So many choices!  Any kind of egg, pastry, fruit, cheese, fish, vegetables, dried fruit and halvah.  Yum!

We hit the road and only got lost once - quickly realizing our mistake and getting back on track.  We took Highway 2 from Tel Aviv to Haifa and then changed to Highway 4.  Highway 2 is the coastal highway so we were near the Mediterranean Sea most of the way north.  We transferred on Highway 4 to a more inland route crossing east to Tsfat.

On our way to Tsfat we stopped in Karmiel, a sister city to Denver.  There was a park with large statutes representing immigrants to came to Israel in the early years.

There were also several monuments dedicated to soldiers who had died fighting for the State of Israel.

While in Karmiel, we stopped for water at the local McDonald's.  The sign in the drive thru was easy to read and a welcome sight.

Thank you - until we meet again.
