3/24/2011 - Neve Tzedek

Back on the bus, we continued to Neve Tzedek, a formerly religious community that was run down, but is being gentrified and renewed by many younger people.  It seems odd to see this community at the base of the newer high rise buildings, but they were very lovely.

Taken for Alice B. - It was exciting to see that she had a store in Neve Tzedek.

Guard and remember the Sabbath day in holiness.
We had a free evening in Tel Aviv and determined that eating another heavy meal was not in the cards.  Instead, Gary and I walked to Diezengoff Street and then up one side and down the other for an hour and a half.  Just as our walk was coming to an end and we were going to turn back to the hotel, the skies once again opened, luckily we were able to duck into an A.M./P.M. store - similar to a 7-11 in the U.S. except they have fresh fruits and vegetables.

We returned to the hotel and joined Allan, Suzan and her sister, Sandy, for a drink.  Early to bed as we leave early tomorrow morning.
