3/17/2011 - Tel Aviv

Our adventures upon arriving in Tel Aviv began with our trip to the rental car office.  We rented from Thrifty, but took the rental car shuttle to the Hertz, Avis, Budget, etc., stop.  No Thrifty.  We finally were able to contact Thrifty and they sent Moti to pick us up.  While at the Thrifty office, we were treated to our first magnificent Israeli sunset.

After filing out the paperwork and loading all of our luggage into our Mazda 3, we started our drive to the Carlton Hotel in Tel Aviv.  The highways are pretty easy to navigate, but unfortunately, the exit that we were instructed to take was closed by the police.  We took the next exit, but lost track of what direction we were wanting to go and got a bit side-tracked.  After driving around for a bit, we finally stopped at a pizza shop and asked for directions. Two hours later we finally found the hotel, got checked into our rooms and went to the London Cafe for dinner and a stroll along the Boardwalk.

After a long day of travel and a bit of food, we returned to the hotel, watched a bit of "Have You Heard About the Morgans?" with Hebrew subtitles and fell soundly asleep.
