3/16-17/2011 - Travel Day

We (the Sunshines and the Markmans) left Denver on Wednesday, March 16, a little later than we should have (1:20 p.m. was the expected departure time), but made it to Newark on time.

We had dinner at Gallagher's Steakhouse in the Newark Airport (Liberty International) and then walked toward the Secure Passport Area to fly to Tel Aviv.  Again we departed a bit late (11:50 p.m. was the expected departure time), but made up the time, arriving in Tel Aviv at about 3:45 p.m.  I watched several TV episodes and a couple of movies en route - sometimes drowsing during the shows.

There were many Orthodox Jews on board the flight to Israel - multiple davening (praying) opportunities - in full Eastern European garb (kittels, pais, Schtraimel hats) and also some pretty aggressive Israeli women.  This can be a bit hard to swallow, but I guess it's good that they stand their ground and advocate for themselves and their children.

We made our way down the long hallway to Passport Check, got our luggage and were on our way.
