3/19/2011 - Dinner in Rosh Pina / Erev Purim

Tonight is Purim and we will attend one of the gatherings in Tsfat after dinner in Rosh Pina, a city close to Tsfat.

We took the back road to Rosh Pina, which was winding in many places, but we had a great view of the Supermoon.  We ate dinner at Spaghettim having yummy pasta and salad.  A new twist ont he salad, deep fried carrot slices.  They looked like chips, but tasted like carrots.  As expected the house salad was large enough for the four of us.  The portions are very adequate and surprisingly the food is pretty tasty - they've come a long way in 40 years.

For dessert we went to Leggenda, an Italian gelato store in the same strip mall as Spaghettim - chocolate coconut was my flavor of choice - Yum!

After dinner we took the more direct route back to Tsfat - the same way that we entered on Friday - and make quicker time on our return.

We had hoped to get to the Megillah reading at the Klan of the White Donkey, but arrived too late after getting a bit lost; once a day whether we need to or not.  Happily, we found our way (after being asked by a local child for Purim Gelt (money) - he had to show us what he had for us to understand what he was asking for) and ran into several of the students from Livnot in Purim costumes fully ready to party.

After their heading back to Livnot, we arrived at the White Donkey in time to see some of the little kiddos in costume - most too tired to stay much longer.  One notable costume was a woman dressed as a judge, her "wig" being a collection of TP rolls arranged on her head.

We headed back to the Inn after a very full and fun day.
