3/21/2011 - Road Trip to Rehovot

We loaded into the car and headed south to Tel Aviv so Allan and Suzan could get more supplies.  We then drove the additional "inch" on the map to Rehovot and Sheila and Yitz.

When we arrived in Rehovot, Yitz greeted us with his great warmth on the street in front of their house.

Sheila and Yitz have a beautiful home with four bedrooms, to bathrooms, a lovely kitchen, living and dining room.  They also have a large backyard with a lemon tree, grapefruit tree and pomegranate tree.  This is very different from the parartments I had visited when in Israel 40 years ago.

Once inside, Navit and her boys, Gilad and Ariel, were also here.  We had tea and cookies and visited before dinner.  Sheila made lasagna, a bread/mushroom quiche, various salads - one dressed with lemon jice, olive oil, salt and pepper that was amazing; the flavor so bright it was hard to stop eating.  Dessert was coffee and strawberry surpries pie - delicious all the way around.

Gilad and Ariel (5 and almost 3, respectively) are quite funny and very cute.  It was great to see them.

After a long day on the road, with only a couple of places that we had to go one way to end up another, we reached our destination safely and very happy.

The rest of our group will depart from Denver tomorrow and we will greet them, graggers from Tsfat in hand, on Wednesday.
